THE DECISIONS THAT SHAPE YOUR TRIP

More than choosing a sailing.

01 / Your pace

Look beyond the route map. Port hours, sea days, season and embarkation cities determine how a journey actually feels.

02 / Your space

A larger terrace and a separate bedroom answer different needs. Compare the exact floor plan, deck location and services before choosing.

03 / Your whole trip

Bring flights, arrival hotels, transfers and time ashore into the same plan. The full vacation matters more than the cruise fare alone.

LIFE ON BOARD

Room to settle into the journey.

Explora brings together ocean-view accommodation, private terraces, a varied dining collection and spaces for both sociable evenings and quieter time at sea.

A terrace in every suite.
Morning coffee outside or a little privacy after a full day ashore can become part of the rhythm of your trip.

A relaxed approach to evenings.
There are no formal nights. Elevated resort-casual dress leaves room for a good dinner without a separate formal wardrobe.

Time for the ship, too.
Pools, thermal-area access and group wellness activities can be part of the appeal. We consider sea days alongside the destinations.

SUITES / THE SPACE YOU WILL USE

Choose the suite for your days, not just its name.

Every Explora suite has an ocean view and a private terrace. Beyond that common starting point, space, layout, outdoor living and services deserve a closer look.

Ocean Suites

Ocean Terrace is a starting point for travelers who want their own outdoor space. Ocean Grand Terrace adds terrace room when long afternoons outside are a priority.

Compare the actual suite location and floor plan; the same broad category can contain choices that matter to you.

Ocean Penthouses

Consider the added lounge or dining space for a longer voyage, in-suite meals or a little more room to spread out. Layouts vary by category.

Ask whether the specific penthouse gives you the bedroom separation, seating and terrace configuration you want.

Ocean & Owner’s Residences

Explore larger living spaces and Residence Host service, or the Owner’s Residence with its dedicated Residence Manager. Review each ship’s individual design.

Whirlpool terraces and other benefits vary. We confirm the selected residence rather than assume every category is identical.

A useful starting question: Will you spend most days ashore, linger on your terrace, share the suite as a family or host friends? That answer can be more useful than simply choosing the highest category.

THE FARE / A CLEARER PICTURE

Generous inclusions. A considered whole-trip budget.

We review what is included in your particular fare and suite, and what you may want to add. The distinction matters when comparing cruise lines.

Published inclusions

A selection of dining experiences
Drinks from the included selection
Wi-Fi and onboard gratuities
Thermal-area access
Group wellness activities
Port-to-city shuttles where required and available

Consider separately

Selected shore experiences
Flights, hotels and transfers not expressly included
Certain culinary experiences and premium wines
Spa treatments and private services
Travel protection and personal spending

Anthology, Chef’s Kitchen, The Chef’s Table and The Cellar are among the additional-charge culinary experiences; availability varies by ship.

Any promotional benefits or advisor amenities depend on the sailing, fare and booking terms. We explain what applies to your proposal before you commit.

DINING / WELLBEING / TIME TO YOURSELF

Build in the moments you care about.

The dining experience is part of the journey. Tell us if a particular restaurant, culinary experience or evening matters to you so its reservation requirements can be part of the preparation.

Some venues use reservations, and booking windows can vary by suite category. Additional arrangements onboard are subject to availability.

The same care applies to wellness. Thermal-area access and group activities are different from individual spa treatments and private services. We help you separate everyday inclusions from the experiences worth adding.

THE FLEET / OCTOBER 2026

EXPLORA III is here. More journeys are ahead.

EXPLORA I, EXPLORA II and EXPLORA III are in service. The right choice starts with where you want to go, but the newest ship also brings features worth comparing.

A closer look at EXPLORA III

The newest operating ship introduces Shore Club on 11, The Cellar and The Chef’s Table, alongside an Owner’s Residence designed by Patricia Urquiola.

A new venue or suite design may be a reason to look closer. We still compare the sailing dates, port time, exact accommodation and any additional charges before recommending it.

DESTINATIONS / THE ITINERARY IS THE DIFFERENCE

Where will your days take you?

These are directions worth discussing, not a promise that every voyage visits the same ports or includes the same experiences. We compare the actual departure, including late stays and overnight calls.

01 / MEDITERRANEAN

Leave room for an evening ashore.

EXPLORA I and II feature in the Summer 2027 Mediterranean collection. If a long dinner, museum visit or unhurried walk matters, look closely at port hours and selected overnight calls.

The planning question: Which places deserve extra days before or after the voyage?

02 / ALASKA, MAY–SEPTEMBER 2027

A first Alaska season for EXPLORA III.

Published shore experiences include the White Pass rail journey from Skagway and boat explorations from Wrangell. These are separately selected experiences, so we review cost, activity level and availability.

The planning question: Would an Alaska or Canadian land extension make the journey more complete?

03 / CARIBBEAN, CANAL & PACIFIC

Follow the coastline, or cross between oceans.

The Winter 2026/27 collection includes Caribbean and Central American journeys, with EXPLORA III continuing through the Panama Canal toward the Pacific coast.

The planning question: How much time would you like on the ship between the places you explore?

04 / LOOKING AHEAD TO 2027/28

South America, Asia and a different winter.

The revised collection places EXPLORA I in South America, EXPLORA III in Asia and EXPLORA V in the Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands. Selected voyages add time in cities such as Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon and Casablanca.

The planning question: Is there a particular season, celebration or city you want to build the trip around?

The September 2026 collection update replaced earlier EXPLORA I and V Middle East and Red Sea plans. We use the current voyage details rather than an older brochure. Natural seasonal displays, including blossoms and fall colors, are never guaranteed.

FINDING YOUR FIT / EXPLORA & SEABOURN

Two compelling choices. Different details.

Both belong on a thoughtful luxury-cruise shortlist. Both offer ocean-view suites, selected premium drinks, Wi-Fi and an onboard gratuity or no-tipping model. The better choice becomes clearer when we compare the exact ship and voyage.

Explora Journeys

Space & atmosphere
A private terrace comes with every suite, with a range of penthouses and residences to compare.

Dining
A broad collection of included venues, with certain culinary experiences and premium selections priced separately.

Evenings
No formal nights. Think elevated resort-casual dressing for dinner.

Family planning
The Nautilus Club serves ages 6–17, with limited accompanied sessions for younger children. Suite occupancy and connecting options need early attention.

Days of discovery
Destination Experiences are selected around an ocean voyage and priced individually unless expressly included in your booking.

Seabourn

Space & atmosphere
Encore and Ovation carry 600 guests each with all-veranda suites. Other Seabourn ships and categories differ, so compare the specific vessel.

Dining
Seabourn lists all its dining venues as complimentary. Premium wine selections and other extras still warrant a fare review.

Evenings
Ocean ships have formal evenings in The Restaurant, with elegant-casual alternatives. Venture and Pursuit have no formal evenings.

Family planning
Assess the ages, interests and activities your group wants. Neither line is automatically the right fit for every family.

Expedition choices
Purpose-built Venture and Pursuit offer expedition travel with included expedition and shore experiences, plus optional extras. That is a different trip from an Explora ocean journey.

Our approach: compare your preferred daily rhythm, time ashore, suite layout and full trip cost. Private terraces and late port stays are valuable features, but they are not exclusive to one luxury cruise line.

PERSONAL ADVICE / FIRSTHAND PERSPECTIVE

A conversation with people who know the questions.

Our recent firsthand cruising includes Explora Journeys, Seabourn and Regent. We discuss the atmosphere, time ashore and pace you enjoy before narrowing the choices.

Solaz’s EXPLORA II suite, wellness and fitness posts offer a closer look at life onboard. Talk with Jason or Jennifer about the details you want to understand before choosing your own journey.

BEFORE / DURING / AFTER

Make the days around your cruise count.

The airport, city center and cruise port may be in different places. We consider the whole route and the time you need to enjoy it, including the small practical details that can otherwise get missed.

Arrive with room to breathe.

Discuss a pre-cruise stay, realistic transfer times and a hotel that fits what you want to see. An arrival buffer can reduce pressure around embarkation.

Check: the actual port terminal, transfer pickup point, hotel check-in time and any separate local taxes.

Choose your days ashore.

Compare the duration, walking demands and transfer time of shore experiences. Some days may suit a guided visit; others may benefit from a lighter plan.

Check: what is included, cancellation terms, accessibility and how the timing fits the ship’s schedule.

Give the final city its time.

A post-cruise stay can turn a transit city into part of the vacation. We consider whether an extra day or a longer land extension genuinely improves your trip.

Check: disembarkation arrangements, luggage, onward travel and whether breakfast or transfers are part of the hotel booking.

How planning with Solaz works

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

The useful details, before you decide.

Good planning starts with clear expectations. These answers are a starting point; we confirm the terms that apply to your ship, suite and sailing.

Why plan Explora Journeys with Solaz?

Work with an advisor on which sailing to choose, what the suite differences mean and how the hotels, transfers and wider itinerary fit together. Our approach is collaborative and continues beyond making the reservation.

What is included in the fare?

Published inclusions cover a selection of dining experiences and drinks, Wi-Fi, onboard gratuities, thermal-area access and group wellness activities. Port-to-city shuttles are included where required and available. We review the exact fare and suite benefits with your proposal.

What should I budget for separately?

Allow for shore experiences, flights, hotels and transfers unless expressly included. Certain culinary experiences, premium wines, spa treatments and private services can add to the total. We help you assess the full trip budget.

How do I choose the right suite?

Start with how you will use it. Terrace space may matter for long afternoons outdoors; added living space can help on a longer voyage. We compare the ship’s floor plan, occupancy, location and category benefits rather than assume every upgrade is worthwhile.

Do I need restaurant reservations?

Some venues use reservations, and booking windows vary by suite category. Additional arrangements onboard are subject to availability. Tell us which experiences matter most so the relevant dates can become part of your preparation.

Are shore excursions included?

Explora’s Destination Experiences are priced separately unless your booking expressly includes a relevant benefit. Check duration, activity level, transfer time and the individual tour’s inclusions. Availability and cancellation rules vary.

Can you help with hotels and transfers?

Yes. We can incorporate the land portion into your plan, whether you want time in the embarkation city or a longer extension. We confirm each hotel and transfer booking’s inclusions; breakfast, local taxes and transport are not automatic.

Is Explora suitable for a family trip?

Explora welcomes families, with connecting suite options and the Nautilus Club. The fit depends on children’s ages, sleeping arrangements and the activities everyone enjoys. Share those details early so accommodation and itinerary can be evaluated together.

What if I have accessibility requirements?

Raise them before selecting a suite or paying a deposit. Accessible accommodation, transport and shore access need separate review. Notify the operator before final payment when bringing mobility or medical equipment; accessible shore vehicles are limited and require advance arrangements.

Are there formal nights?

Explora has no formal evenings. Pack comfortable daytime clothing and elevated resort-casual options for dinner. Swimwear, sportswear and similar attire have restrictions in indoor dining and bar spaces; review the current guidance before departure.

How far ahead should I start?

Start when your dates and priorities are reasonably clear, especially for connecting suites, a particular residence or a seasonal trip. Solaz generally plans custom leisure and cruises several months to a year ahead. Earlier planning allows comparison but does not guarantee a lower fare or availability.

Is there a planning fee?

No. Solaz Travel does not charge planning fees for cruises.

Will I receive extra amenities or the lowest price?

Ask us to review the benefits available for your sailing and fare. Advisor amenities, onboard credit and other offers depend on eligibility, availability and booking terms. We explain what applies to your proposal rather than promise a universal benefit.
